Especially when driving a car, where the driver performs many operations unconsciously, the haptically perfect movement of levers and switches and the ability to operate them intuitively is by far the most important criterion. This also applies especially to steering column levers and switches: only if you hardly notice them and they follow the movement of your finger almost unnoticed do they fulfill their purpose and ensure a pleasant driving experience.
That's why our steering wheel gears are equipped with innovative sensor technology, are easy to move and at the same time provide the driver with optimal haptic feedback.
To ensure that the vehicle can be operated as conveniently as possible via the steering wheel levers and switches, we rely, among other things, on the use of 3D Hall sensors. In contrast to simple Hall sensors, which only measure “in one direction”, lateral and vertical Hall elements will be placed on a chip, enabling non-contact, three-dimensional motion measurements – reliably and precisely. The measurement results are transmitted via a corresponding interface, so that a “tap of a finger” is enough to trigger the corresponding function.
